Admissions Policy

St. Colman’s College, Newry is a voluntary Catholic grammar school for boys.

We accept boys who are academically suited for the type of education it offers and

whose parents/guardians agree with the aims and ethos of the College.

Admissions Criteria

All admissions are managed directly by the Education Authority, based on the criteria set by St. Colman’s College, and further information can be found in the EA Post-Primary Admissions Guide.

Each year, the College admits 125 pupils into Year 8 to begin their College journey.

A small number of places may become available in Years 9-12, depending on enrolment numbers at the start of the academic year.

We welcome bright and accomplished Years 13 and 14 pupils whose own academic achievements match those expected from a St. Colman’s College pupil.
