Anti-Bullying

Bullying, whether physical, verbal or indirect, is not tolerated in St.Colman’s College.

Forms of bullying include:


  • Indirect bullying such as excluding another pupil from a group activity;

  • Cyber-bullying - use of mobile phones or the internet to send malicious messages or images;

  • Interfering with another pupil’s property, by stealing, hiding or damaging it;

  • Using offensive names when addressing another pupil;

  • Teasing or spreading rumours about another pupil or his family;

  • Belittling another pupil’s abilities and achievements;

  • Writing offensive notes or graffiti about another pupil;

  • Physical violence, such as hitting, pushing or spitting at another pupil;

  • Ridiculing another pupil’s appearance, way of speaking or personal mannerisms.

  • Isolating or excluding pupils from groups or activities



Any issues or concerns with bullying should be brought to the immediate attention of a member of staff. We are a school that has no tolerance of bullying behaviours of any form and will deal firmly with any issues that arise.
